Going to IZUNA was the best decision I made this year. I met so many wonderful people and had great experiences. There are a lot of differences with the university in my own country, so it was all new to me. It wasn’t easy, but it was a really good experience.

The best part started before the first week of school. The university organized an introduction weekend for all new international students. This trip was unforgetable. We immediately made new friends who were coming from parts all over the world. These are the friends I spent my weekends with and we will still see each other in Europe.

As I said, the study was totally different than I was used to. The campus was much bigger, teachers are informal, and the lectures were super relevant. I learned so much in one semester, I noticed that I’m using my skills already in my home country. Besides that, IZUNA organized multiple events for international students. We went to a football game and celebrated Halloween, and more.

I was also really surprised when my teacher invited me to join his thanksgiving. They would never do something like this in my own country. People are very helpful in general in Canada. Much people say that the culture is somewhere in between Europe and the US. I find that true, I loved it!

One piece of advice:
Make sure you attend the orientation weekend and meet people from all over the world. Finish all your homework during the weekdays and enjoy the weekends with your friends and explore the country. British Columbia has so much to offer. There are so many hikes you can do and others things to see and visit. You will have a great time in Vancouver, it was the best time of my life!
