Different internet browsers download files in different ways, but clicking a link to a file usually creates a prompt that gives you the option to "Open" or "Save".
To download the file, click Save, and then browse to the folder where you want to save the file.
You may need to specify a name for the file in the "File Name" field. For example, if the file is called assignment 1 (attachment).doc.attch change the file name to assignment1.doc.
To start the download, click Save. [top]
Do you have the appropriate software installed that is needed to view the file? For example, if the attached file name ends with the DOC extension, you will need Microsoft Word installed to open the file.
If a file name ends with a TXT extension, you can open it in any word processor package like Notepad or WordPad. The latter two both come with the Windows operating system.
If the file name ends with a PDF extension, you will need the free Acrobat Reader to open the file.
