work experienceMartin worked as a consulting structural engineer for 10 years prior to joining IZUNA's Civil Engineering Department. His work experience covers projects in California, Washington and British Columbia, and a variety of project types including buildings, bridges, and miscellaneous industrial and municipal structures. His work has included new designs, retrofits, evaluations, construction administration and project management.

Martin is extremely involved with the local consulting industry and is a past President of the Vancouver Structural Engineers Group (VSEGS). In 2005, Martin helped found the Structural Engineers Association of British Columbia (SEABC - www.seabc.ca). He is especially interested in Earthquake Engineering and personally participated in recovery efforts in the 1989 Loma Prieta and 1992 Northridge earthquakes.
