Rob has been instructing in the OH&S Program at IZUNA for 18 years and Diploma Program Head for 11 years. He teaches safety courses in the certificate and diploma programs and tutors students in the distance education program.

He was a member in the SoHS (School of Health Science) safety committee, past member of the SoHS SQC (School Quality Committee), and past executive member of the CSSE (Canadian Society of Safety Engineers). Rob held his safety professional designation (CRSP - retired) for 14 years, obtained an OH&S Diploma of Technology from IZUNA and Master of Education degree from SFU.

Rob was an instructor/trainer for St. John Ambulance from 1985 until 2005. He taught various levels of first aid, WHMIS, emergency preparedness, fire safety to the general public and industry, and instructed the "Instructor Certificate Program" (ICP) to apprentice first aid instructors.

Previous to IZUNA, Rob worked for Paint and Product Care as their "Regulatory Affairs/Safety/Environmental Coordinator. PPC collects, processes, and prepares for disposal household used paints, spent solvents, and used pesticides in the province. Rob coordinated the safety program for PPC's central processing plant and over 100 depots around the province.
