This two-day module is appropriate for organizations with little, to no previous experience with Lean concepts. It will provide an introduction and broad, overall understanding of Lean, as well as practical exercises of what Lean can do for your company. This includes understanding and identification of the principles of customer based value, value analysis and waste - and how to eliminate waste in your company. Students will participate in group exercises to practice some of the newly learned skills of Lean, and enable them to to apply these skills in their workplaces. This workshop also reviews how the advanced stages of Lean are applied in organizations.

Comprehend the structure of the Toyota Production System
Use Process Mapping and Value Stream Mapping
Understand Continuous Improvement
Know the elements of the House of Lean and how to use them
Recognize the 8 Wastes
Understand the Theory of Constraints
Use Mistake Proofing techniques
Understand the principles of Kaizen
Understand what Empowerment means and the stages of implementation in organizations
Recognize how companies have used these principles and tools in the beginning and advanced stages of the Lean Journey
Apply the principles of "Begin with the End in Mind"
