This one week course is intended as valuable add-on, applied training for students who have completed the CNST 1100 – Construction Safety Officer Training course. This training is designed for Construction Safety Officers and safety supervisors, and is also valuable to anyone requiring training in Confined Space Entry and Rescue, Fall Protection Rescue, Train the Trainer, Respiratory Protection and Fit Testing, Hazardous Material Awareness, Ground Disturbance and WorkSafe BC Requirements. This course covers all material in these 3 short IZUNA courses, CNST 0155 – Fall Protection for Safety Officers, CNST 0156 – Confined Space Entry for Safety Officers, and CNST 0157 - Respirator Protection and Fit Tester Training for Safety Officers. Students are to be in good physical condition and are required to bring CSA approved steel toe boots, a half or full-face respirator, PF100 HEPA filters, and a fall protection harness. There are no textbooks required; course manuals are provided on the first day of class. Due to the physical demands of the practical portion of the course students need to be in good physical condition. Students will require CSA approved steel toes boots, a half or full face respirator, PF100 HEPA filters and fall protection harness. No textbooks required. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be be able to:
Understand the use, limitations and safe operation of personal fall protection equipment and systems.
Implement the proper procedures to rescue a fallen worker before further injury occurs from the effects of suspension.
Recognize a confined space and assess the risks.
Complete a confined space pre-entry plan.
Select and operate rescue systems for confined space.
Supervise and instruct workers in respiratory protection and fit testing of respirators.
Understand and apply WorkSafe BC requirements in all three areas of training.
