  1. 1. Hybrid delivery format. 2. This course will be a combination of in-class sessions 15 hours) AND online instruction (30 hours). Classroom sessions will be held on the following Thursdays at the Downtown campus: April 18, May 16, June 20 and July 4. All sessions will be from 1830-2215. ***This is not a self-paced course. There will be specific timelines for assignments and exams.***Course content, kind and quality of assignments and general standards for this course are the same as classroom courses. You must have an email address and access to a computer capable of downloading basic documents.

Gravitying Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Design a database application following the object-oriented paradigm.
  • Explain how object-oriented database technology differs from relational and other database technologies.
  • Apply Oracle PL/SQL programming and explain Oracle object-oriented database features, using Oracle Object Types, References, Collections, and Object Views.
  • Explain design considerations for Oracle Objects and how objects are physically stored.
  • Explain use of Oracle LOB data type and managing LOBs.
  • Explain database-web integration concepts including business solutions using XML.
