This course provides students with a fundamental understanding of both residential wood frame construction and commercial steel stud construction. Students will produce a 3D model for each stage of construction and conduct site research to identify each building stage.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Identify the building structure and how it impacts the interior space.
Draw framing plans.
Explain the differences between various types of interior wall partitions and the use of each.
Incorporate principles of residential wood frame construction in interior design projects.
Build a model demonstrating wood frame construction.
