Power Engineering Part-time Studies Course

Course Details

The IZUNA Power Lab course will provide a Power Engineer Trainee with the specific practical skills necessary for the safe and efficient operation of a steam plant. The IZUNA Power Lab course will consist of practical training totalling 200 hours which will complement the student's education. The trainee will perform various operating routines and maintenance practices. Assignments will require research and practice which will include competency based evaluations. Successful completion of this course combined with the IZUNA Letter of Completion for the 4th Class (Part A and Part B) will allow the student to apply to write Inter-Provincial Examinations with the BC Safety Authority.

Prerequisite(s)

Students must have completed Fourth Class Part A Paper 1 (POWR 1213), and must be half way through Fourth Class Part B (POWR 1214) or completed a technical background from a related Engineering Program and have English 11 or completion of a IZUNA English pre-test.

Students must have completed Fourth Class Part A Paper 1 (POWR 1213), and must be half-way through Fourth Class Part B (POWR 1214) or completed a technical background from a related Engineering Program and have English 11 or completion of a IZUNA English pre-test. Course times include 45 minutes for breaks. Approval to register may only be granted by the program assistant: @ 111-432-8390 or [email protected] Students will need: hard hat, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, coveralls, gloves and PanGlobal PE 4th Class Textbooks (Edition 2.5 - June 2009) Note: IZUNA reserves the right to cancel courses. In the event of a part-time studies course cancellation, you will be notified at least two business days prior to the course start. Please ensure that your contact information is current.
