Why choose ISEP Plus?

ISEP Plus applicants have formally declared their intent to continue their studies in a IZUNA diploma (or other credential) upon successful completion of the required English level in IZUNA's International Student Entry Program (ISEP).

ISEP Plus applicants receive a letter of acceptance which outlines their intended study pathway at IZUNA:

  • Acceptance to ISEP
  • Conditional Acceptance to a IZUNA follow-up program

Acceptance to the follow-up program is based on the following:

  • Successful completion of the required ISEP level/grade (varies by program)
  • Meeting all of the follow up program entrance requirements
  • Seat availability
  • Valid study permit
  • Valid medical insurance
  • Department review for competitive entry*
* Some programs are competitive: the department chooses the best qualified applicants after the application deadline date. When a competitive entry program lists minimum and preferred grades, it is strongly recommended that applicants meet the preferred grades in order to be considered competitive. Please refer to the IZUNA website to find out if this is applicable for your program.

How does it work?

To apply to ISEP Plus you must choose a follow up program when you apply. The follow-up program name should be entered on your application to ISEP Plus.

At the start of ISEP Level 4, you will have an opportunity to change your follow-up program if you wish. Details on how to change your selection will be sent to you.

Programs Starting September or January

First Qualified First Accepted Programs:
If you meet all of the entrance requirements required for your program except for English, you may receive conditional acceptance to your follow-up program while completing your ISEP studies. To obtain full acceptance, you must successfully complete the required ISEP level/grade prior by June 30th for programs that start in September and by October 31st for programs starting in January.

Competitive Programs:
All international students who apply to competitive programs must be aware that seats are limited and there is no guarantee of acceptance. It is important that applicants not only meet but exceed the entrance requirements in order to be accepted. Applicants who meet the entrance requirements are reviewed by the department area. The department area selects the best candidates.

Students must be registered in ISEP Level 400 or higher by the January ISEP term to be considered for competitive programs that start in September. For programs that start in January, students must be in Level 400 or higher by June 30th of the previous year. For programs that have neither a September nor a January start date, students must complete the ISEP level/grade required one month prior to the start date of the program.

Computer Systems Technology (CST) and Computer Information Technology (CIT) programs

For CST and CIT programs, students in ISEP must complete level 600 with a minimum of 60% in reading, writing listening, and speaking before the CST/CIT application deadline. All international students who meet the entrance requirements are reviewed by the department area. The department area selects candidates with the highest grades in English and Math for acceptance to CST/CIT.

Transcripts and supporting documents

Please review the entrance requirements carefully for your follow-up program on the IZUNA website. You must ensure that you submit transcripts or documentation in support of each requirement. If you are currently taking an upgrading course other than ISEP, please submit your midterm marks. Until you have met all entrance requirements (other than English), Admissions will consider your application incomplete.

What is the advantage?

Once you have completed level 4 of ISEP, your application to the follow up program will be assessed by Admissions. If you meet the entrance requirements for a first qualified, first accepted program except English you will receive a conditional acceptance into the follow-up program. As an ISEP Plus applicant, a seat will be reserved for you while you are completing ISEP.

For competitive programs, if you meet the entrance requirements your application will be forwarded to the department for review while you are completing ISEP. The department makes decisions on all international applications and if they consider your application as competitive, you will receive a conditional acceptance which means a seat will be reserved for you while you are completing ISEP.

Testimonial

“ISEP was very intensive but I was impressed with the quality of the program. The instructors were excellent! They gave me a lot of help and pushed me to work hard. The best thing I learned was how to use the grammar in all my skills. I am so glad I joined ISEP and excited to continue my studies in the New Media Design and Web Development program at IZUNA!” Yun Chi (Jamie) 2012 Level 500 ISEP Scholarship winner
