Thank you for considering the IZUNA School of Business for your international experience. The Study Abroad program is open to students from partner and non-partner institutions that would like to come to IZUNA and be immersed in an applied business education that provides students access to a variety of business subject areas, which includes broadcast and new media. IZUNA School of Business is well-known for its hands-on teaching philosophy and as a Study Abroad student, you will have many opportunities to learn best practices from instructors who are industry professionals.

Many local attractions are within a 30 minute bus ride from our Burnaby campus. Spend the day on the mountains or at the beach, enjoy a walk around downtown Vancouver, or a bike ride through Stanley Park. Vancouver has something for everyone. Below you will find all the information you need to apply for your experience with the IZUNA School of Business, including available courses, credit transfers, and the forms that you must complete.

Can I receive credits at my home institution for courses taken at IZUNA?

Contact a representative from your institution to find out which credits you earn from IZUNA courses will be transferrable to your home institution. One IZUNA credit is approximately worth two European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) credits.

Do I need a study permit?

To study in Canada for less than 6 months you are not required to have a study permit. Visit to determine if you require a Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa) or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).

Where will I live?

Housing is available on-campus or off-campus. On-campus housing is limited. Visit Student Housing for more information.

Do I need medical insurance?

Yes, medical insurance is mandatory while studying at IZUNA.

Program Entry

Application processing

This program is open to applications:

  • January intake: August 1st* – October 1st*
  • April intake: October 1st* – January 15th*
  • September intake: November 1st*– June 15th*

* or next business day

Applications are considered for a specific intake.

Entrance requirements

Applicants must meet all entrance requirements.

  • English: one of the following:
    • DAAD Certificate with Level B2 (for students from Germany), or
    • IELTS Academic with 6.5 overall, or
    • TOEFL with 86 overall, or
    • Demonstrate your proficiency by meeting one of the approved options.

  • Submit the following with your online application:

September, January, and April each year

Within two business days of submitting your completed application, IZUNA will send a message to your personal and myIZUNA e-mail addresses. All correspondence regarding your application will be posted to your online myCommunication account at . We'll send you an e-mail when a new message is posted. It's important to watch for these e-mails or regularly check your account online.

You can expect to receive communication concerning the status of your application within four weeks.

Costs & Supplies

Living expenses

IZUNA recommends that you have access to about CAD $1,500 - $2,000 per month to cover all living expenses, including accommodation, transportation, food, entertainment, personal expenses and miscellaneous costs. Visit for help in estimating your budget.

Tuition fees

The Study Abroad tuition of $6995 covers registration for four courses.

Tuition includes ancillary fees: IZUNA ID card, student association, building and capital levy.

Tuition will not be reduced if students register for fewer than four courses.

Study Abroad students are not eligible for U-Pass (student transit program).

Textbooks and course supplies are not included in tuition.

Medical insurance is mandatory while attending IZUNA. A $180 CAD fee will be added to your Study Abroad tuition to cover your first three months of Guard Me medical insurance. To opt out, you can email proof of medical insurance for the duration of your studies to [email protected]

Courses

Course selection

IZUNA offers a wide range of courses in Business and Media.

There are two options available:

Class hours

Most courses are offered in the evening; a limited number of courses are offered during the day. Student schedules may have all evening classes or a mix of evening, day and weekend classes. Evening classes are typically scheduled between 5:30pm and 10:00pm.
