Truck and Transport Mechanic (TTM)
Level 1, 2, 3 Heavy Mechanical Trades (HMT)
Level 4 Truck and Transport Mechanic (TTM)
Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (HDET)

Note: Registration in this trade will be at the ITA only. Apprentices complete the HMT levels at IZUNA.
Transport Trailer Technician (TTT)

Program Entry

Pathways

There are a few ways of beginning your new career as a heavy mechanical trades apprentice:

  1. Take our Heavy Mechanical Trades Foundation program. By working through a series of practical projects and assignments and theory assignments you'll build a solid foundation of knowledge and skills to make you more employable in an entry-level position. By successfully completing the program, you will also receive credit for the in-school portion of Level 1 of our Heavy Mechanical Trades Apprenticeship training.
  2. Find employment within heavy mechanical trades with an employer who will register you with the (ITA). In this option, you are indentured to a company as an heavy mechanical trades apprentice, learning basic skills while you are employed. The advantage here is that you earn while you learn.
  3. You may be granted credit for the completion of Level One of Heavy Mechanical Trades by successfully passing the Level 1 Exam through the ITA, or by having your employer complete an exemption request form and submitting it to the ITA.
